Rocky Road Canvas Collage

Explore the possibilities of a textured, rich surface for collage—work with newsprint, tissue & cheesecloth on a stretched canvas to build depth. Learn all about what gesso & matte medium can do for a painted collage surface! We'll cover our canvas with matte medium & tissue, then coat with gesso & acrylics.  Embed with imagery & findings for a seamless collage that glows, using the same techniques that Amy works into her professional paintings.  Sat. 9-12:00, all supplies, $40
 

The Bee’s Knees

Discover the joys of beeswax in this workshop!  We’ll learn all the ways beeswax can work for the artist, including use as a binder for collage, creating lovely patinas on paper, & creating depth & transparency over embedded findings.  You’ll start small, playing with an ATC size collage, then move up to a stretched canvas frame--continue to explore the effects of beeswax on layers of paper & findings, finishing with a splash of colored wax over your collage works.  Your artwork will have depth & mystery—and smell so divine!  Sat. 1:00-3:00, all supplies included, $45/student

Altered States

Welcome to the world of altered books!  Come explore all the cool things you can do to an old book & give it new life.  Play with Claudine's Studio Acrylics, Golden gesso, glazes, embossing, collage, cutting, tearing, folding--there are no limits to what or how you can alter these books.  We'll explore techniques with mediums & gels, including an easy image transfer using Golden's Soft Gel.  You may bring a hard cover book if you wish, but I'll have plenty to choose from.  We'll also share our books in class, allowing for even more artistic inspiration!  Sat. 3:30-6:00, all supplies included, $45/student

Stamper's Ink's Card Tournament!

Card Design Tournament that is.......... anyone can enter!

The Basics

Every month in 2012, Stampers Ink is hosting a card "tournament". (Nooooo. Not THAT kind of cards, but you can win some cash!) The tournament will take place once a month on a Saturday. Entry fee is only $10, and only 12 "players" are allowed per month. The first 12 who pay their entry fee gets in. Easy peasy.

The Loot (Winnings)

Each first place winner per month will win a $100 gift certificate!! They will also win a spot in the tournament final round in December, where one lucky winner will take home a $250 gift certificate and the coveted title of Card Tournament Champion for 2012! The 2012 Champion will also get a spiffy trophy to prove to their friends that they are a design champion!

For your entry fee, you get:

 We will provide two 6' tables packed full of items that you can choose from. You will have access to our class room papers, stamps, embellishments, inks and embossing powders. You get to use our die cuts and embossing folders too! Anything goes! We will even provide the adhesives and scissors!

You will be required to make one card. The tables will be open all day, and there are no time limits so take your time! We will even provide snacks. Cards can only be made of the materials we provide and no outside materials can be used.

How Many Times Can you Enter?

Once you win - you sit out until the finals. If you don't win, you can continue to play each month (new admission fee required of course) until you win.

How You Win

After the tournament Saturday, cards will be posted on our website (www.stampersink.net), blog (www.stampersink.typepad.com)and our Facebook page. Customers will be able to vote for ONE WEEK, and the votes will be tallied from each site (website, FB and blog) on the following Friday. The winner will be announced the following day! Tell all your friends to vote for you too! They can vote once per site!!!
